How to Create a Special Order
Sell an item you don’t have on the shelf by ordering it in — or grabbing it from another store — right alongside the items the customer is taking with them today.
Click Special Order at the top of the register, then scan or type the item and press Enter. Anything added in this mode is marked to be ordered in for the customer rather than pulled from your shelf.
Need part of a line from stock and part ordered in? Click the line to open Edit line and set the special-order quantity — those units are ordered in and the rest sell from stock.
Search results also show stock at your other locations. If another store has the item, click their count and choose Grab from here — the unit is sourced from that store and a pending transfer is sent to them, so their stock only moves once they confirm it.
Add a line note in Edit line for any special instructions (it prints on the receipt), then take payment and click Complete Sale. Each special order is automatically assigned a bin, so the items have a home the moment they arrive.
For a detailed view of sale line items, note the item types: ‘P‘ indicates a regular purchase, while ‘S‘ denotes a special order. The special order line item also displays your stock, the vendor’s stock, and the quantity of that item currently on purchase orders.
